Talk by Alan Williams

Dr. Alan Williams researches and teaches at Salford University and is also a composer. He has written on Hungarian music, especially that of György Kurtág. His talk will explore Hungarian composers of the 20th century including Kurtág, György Ligeti and Pál Kadosa.

Talk by Amanda Bayley

Dr. Amanda Bayley teaches at Wolverhampton University and her research interests include Bartók's manuscripts and the performance history of the string quartets. She edited The Cambridge Companion to Bartók, published in 2001, to which she contributed a chapter on the string quartets. Her talk will focus on the second and fourth quartets but will also explore the remaining four.
